PRIVACY POLICY

Anjelo's Cakes ("we", "us") bakes and delivers cakes from Kerala, India. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to www.anjeloscakes.com and to our marketing communications.
1. WHO WE ARE

2. WHAT WE COLLECT
When you place an order: your name, email address, phone number, delivery address, city and country, the items you ordered, and your order history and totals. Payment is handled by our store provider and their payment partners. We never see or store your full card details.
When you contact us or subscribe: your name, email address and phone number, and whatever you choose to write to us.
When you use the site: standard technical information such as your IP address, browser and pages viewed, through cookies and similar technology (see section 8).
If you are sent a cake as a gift: the person ordering gives us your delivery details. We use them to deliver the gift. We only add you to marketing if you separately choose to join.
Business contacts: for corporate gifting we keep business contact details, being the company name, a contact name, role and work email address, used only to offer our products to that business.
3. HOW WE USE IT
To take, bake, deliver and support your order, and to handle returns or problems.
To keep records we are required to keep, including tax and accounting records.
To send you marketing about our cakes and offers, only if you have opted in (see section 4).
To understand which products and content people respond to, so we make better cakes and better offers. We may group customers into broad segments, for example people who order at Christmas.
To protect the site and prevent fraud or abuse.
4. MARKETING, AND HOW TO STOP IT
Email marketing is opt-in. We only email you offers if you have agreed. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately.
WhatsApp marketing requires its own separate opt-in. Agreeing to emails does not opt you in to WhatsApp, and agreeing to WhatsApp does not opt you in to email. You can withdraw either at any time by replying STOP or writing to us.
Order and delivery messages are not marketing. We will still send you the messages needed to fulfil an order you placed, such as confirmations, delivery updates, and replies to your questions.
Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did lawfully before you withdrew it.
5. WHO WE SHARE IT WITH
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the business, and only as far as they need it:
Wix, for our online store, website and order processing (USA and global).
Supabase, for the database holding customer and order records (cloud hosting).
Hetzner, for the server running our marketing systems (Germany).
Cloudflare R2, for storage of our images and videos (global).
Brevo, for sending our emails (European Union).
Anthropic and Google, for AI services that help us write and design marketing content (USA).
Delivery and courier partners, for delivering your order (India and destination country).
About the AI services: we use them to help create marketing content, such as writing captions and designing images and video. We do not send them your name, address, phone number or order history to do that.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to establish or defend legal claims.
6. WHERE YOUR INFORMATION GOES
We are based in India, and some of the providers above store or process information outside India, including in the European Union and the United States. Where that happens we rely on the provider's contractual data protection commitments. We ship cakes worldwide, so where you ask us to deliver outside India your delivery details go to that country.
7. HOW LONG WE KEEP IT
Order records: as long as needed for the order and then as long as tax and accounting law requires.
Marketing contact details: until you opt out or ask us to delete them, and then only what we must keep to honour your opt-out.
Business contact details: until the contact asks us to remove them.
Website technical logs: a short period, for security and troubleshooting.
8. COOKIES
Our site uses cookies that make it work, such as keeping you signed in and remembering your cart, and cookies that help us understand how the site is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may then not work properly.
9. YOUR RIGHTS
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and other laws that may apply to you, you can ask us to:
tell you what personal information we hold about you;
correct anything inaccurate, incomplete or out of date;
delete your personal information, where we are not required to keep it;
withdraw your consent to marketing at any time;
and nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf if you die or become incapacitated.
Write to business@anjeloscakes.com and we will respond. If you are not satisfied with how we handle your request, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
10. CHILDREN
Our site and products are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us their information, write to us and we will delete it.
11. SECURITY
We use access controls and encrypted connections, and we limit who can reach customer records. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information and to act quickly if something goes wrong.
12. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page and change the effective date at the top. If the change is significant we will tell customers who have opted in to hear from us.
